Pricetrap

Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 13, 2026

Pricetrap ("the app", "we") helps travelers compare local and tourist prices by analyzing product photos. This policy explains what data the app handles and how.

Data we process

Photos you capture or select. When you scan a product, the photo is sent over an encrypted connection to our server and forwarded to a third party AI vision service for analysis. Photos are used only to produce your price analysis. We do not build a photo library on our servers. Your scan photos are stored locally on your device for your scan history and can be deleted by you at any time.

Approximate location. With your permission, the app reads your device location once per scan to determine the city and country you are in. This is used only to localize price estimates. The city and country name (not your coordinates) are sent with your analysis request. Location is never tracked in the background.

Notes you add. If you attach a note to a scan (for example a quoted price), it is sent with the analysis request to improve the result.

Purchase information. Subscriptions are processed by Apple and managed through RevenueCat. We receive anonymized subscription status (active plan, renewal state) and never see your payment details.

What we do not do

Third party services

Each provider processes data only as needed to deliver the service.

Data retention

Scan results and photos live on your device. Deleting a scan in the app removes it from your device. Analysis requests are not stored on our servers beyond standard short term operational logs.

Your choices

Children

Pricetrap is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the date above.
